Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is an Internet Marketing strategy that helps channel relevant traffic to a website. While it’s important how high the website ranks in Search Engine Result Pages (SERP); ranking high for the relevant phrase or keyword is the key for generating sales leads. If the visitor finds what he is looking for the probability of generating a sale increases.

Ultimately, the goal is to feature higher in SERP for keywords that have high search volume; unfortunately, most of the time those keywords are highly competitive and require a sustained effort.   • Anchor text for inbound link
  • Topical relevance of linking pages
  • Age of site and links

The above list of activities/tasks is a good starting point but it’s only a starting point. There is lot more to SEO and each website warrants a slightly different approach. Bottom line – there is no easy or shot gun approach. The rules are constantly changing; therefore, the website must be updated on a regular basis.
